These are genuine, all natural coconut shells. Therefore, it may have minor cracks, blemishes, and dents. Imperfections like these give our bowls personality and remind you that you’re eating out of natures original bowl.
Follow these basic bowl care tips to ensure a long lasting and durable Buddha Bowl.
Washing
For starters,
hand wash with lukewarm soapy water. Also, do not use in the dishwasher, wash in very hot water or soak for a long period of time.
Eating
The bowls are suitable for both cool and warm foods. To ensure durability, prepare your bowl for the change in temperature by first rinsing your bowl in lukewarm water for warm food and in cool water for cooler food. Do not expose coconut bowls to extreme temperatures and do not use in refrigerator, microwave or use in the oven.
After 10-20 uses, your new buddha bowl may become dry and dull.
Most importantly,
we use coconut oil to re-hydrate our bowls and restore its shine and smooth surface. You could also use linseed or flax-seed oil.
It’s as easy as scooping 1 tablespoon or so of coconut oil onto a towel and polishing your bowl inside and out.
