How To Make A Whipped Matcha Latte

This creamy whipped matcha latte (aka “dalgona matcha”) is inspired by the trending dalgona coffee drink that has recently gone viral.
Making it the perfect drink for an aesthetic morning. Features the iconic fluffy, whipped cream on top of a milk base.

Mix

Mix together the matcha powder, sugar and whipping cream in a mixing bowl. Combine together thoroughly until no lumps of matcha remain. Try smushing the matcha against the sides of the bowl to break it up.

Make sure to whisk out all the lumps in your matcha powder to get a smooth, creamy latte. I did this by whisking it with small amounts of cream first so that any lumps can be smushed against the glass instead of floating around in too much liquid.

Combine

Use a hand mixer or whisk to whip the mixture until it becomes soft peaks. The matcha cream should be creamy and hold its shape when stirred around or lifted with a spoon.

Fill a glass halfway with milk.

You can try any type of milk you prefer- dairy, nuts or plant based milks. (coconut, dairy, soy, oat)
We suggest to start with matcha lattes, choosing coconut or almond milk.
Both milks pair up very well with matcha without cover its flavor entirely.

Spoon the whipped matcha cream on top of the milk.

Sprinkle matcha powder on top to finish.

The matcha cream itself will be quite strong … as it’s supposed to be!
It will become diluted after mixing it with the milk.
Add a bit more matcha powder if you prefer it even stronger.

Stir together before drinking.
